3 Amazing Uses for Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil Toothpaste

Using coconut oil as a toothpaste helps improve gum health and get rid of bad breath.

It removes plaque and tartar, helping to prevent tooth decay.

Making toothpaste is very easy, as you only need two ingredients:

  • Pure organic cold-pressed coconut oil
  • Peppermint essential oil

Put ½ cup of pure coconut oil in a non-reactive container (stainless steel, ceramic, or glass, for example).

Add 5-10 drops of the essential oil.

Mix well and pour into a clean glass jar.

You can also whip this mixture for a fluffier toothpaste.

To use it, all you have to do is dip your dry toothbrush in the paste.

Coconut oil and essential oils will prevent the growth of bacteria in your toothpaste. However, it is very important that your toothbrush is always dry because if water gets into the toothpaste, some germs can grow.

Coconut Oil Body Oil and Moisturizing Cream

This is one of my favorite ways to use coconut oil.

It is a super soft, flexible body cream that leaves a pleasant aroma. After applying it, it gives a very nice shine while the skin is still wet.

To use coconut oil as a body oil, simply apply it directly to your skin while showering. You will see it melt in your hand.

You can also add essential oils to the recipe:

  • 1 cup of virgin or pure coconut oil
  • 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil

Mix coconut oil and essential oils.

Let it rest for a few days before using it.

Then, apply it evenly over the whole body.

Another way to use coconut oil is to beat it into a soft and spongy body butter with these same ingredients.

All you have to do is beat it until it is fluffy. Keep it in a cool place as it may melt.

Coconut Oil Hair Removal Cream

To remove hair with pure or extra virgin coconut oil, place a bottle in the shower and apply it evenly to the skin.

Remove extra water before applying.

Shave as you normally would, and be sure to rinse the blade well to avoid clogging.

You won’t need moisturizer afterward. The residual coconut oil will leave your legs or the area you have waxed ultra smooth.

If you want extra hydration, rub in a little more oil after depilation.

Which Coconut Oil to Buy

Before you buy coconut oil, you should take into account that there are several types of coconut oil, so make sure that:

  • It is 100% pure or virgin coconut oil.
  • It does not contain additives.
  • It is cold-pressed.
  • It has the organic or ecological certification.

Nowadays, you can buy coconut oil in many places: herbalists, natural products stores, and even in some supermarkets.

Another highly recommendable option is to buy coconut oil through Amazon, being a fast and comfortable service where you will find more variety in brands and sizes.
